New Adapter - AWS
To add a new AWS Adapter you have to click on Add Adapter on top right of screen, then choose Adapter::AWS
It will be open the following window. You have to complete the fields to continue.
- Choose Consolidated Billing if you are using this account for Paying Bills of Multiple Accounts. We strongly recommend not to use this account for service management.
- Choose Backup if you want to use this account for Backing up managed services. We strongly recommend to backup your important data periodically to Backup account and not to use this account for service management.
- Choose Normal if you are using this account for managing AWS services, provide additional information regarding billing to be utilized for various Financial Reports.
Billing Adapter: You can choice another adapter if it is already created for you Billing.
Name: Adapter’s name to assist with identification.
Access Key ID: The access key of an IAM user from your AWS Account.
Secret Key ID: The secret key of the same IAM user from your AWS Account.
Specify S3 bucket: Provide S3 bucket details which you have configured for receiving billing reports.
After inserted the S3 bucket name, you have to click on Verify to check if the bucket is valid.
If it is valid you will see a green check mark beside of the name you had inserted, then click on Create Adapter.
The message below will appear asking you to synchronize your account, click on OK.
The Schedule Event window will be open to you configure a schedule synchronization for your adapter.
Name: You can change the name or leave it as default.
Auto Sync to Kumolus
ON - Bring all VPC from your AWS account as all services inside them.
OFF - Bring only selected VPC from your AWS account as all services inside them.
Notify: Mark this check box if you would like to be notified when synchronization process has done.
Then click on Next.
Next screen is Time Schedule tab, where you have to select when it will be started.
Repeats: Mark this check box if you would like that this synchronization repeats.
Occurrence: Choose the often that this event will repeat.
Ends on: Choose when this repetition will finish.
Then click on Create to finish.
As shown in picture above it will be synchronized daily on the same time you had chosen.
Now your AWS Adapter has been created.
This setting is used to set available regions which limit the ability to provision allowed regions only.You can Enable or Disable regions, after click on Update Regions to finish.
After created your Adapter you have a few options to manage the adapter as shown in picture bellow.
List VPC’s: View list of VPCs from this adapter.
When you click on List VPC’s it will be shown you all VPC synchronized from your AWS account to your Adapter on Kumolus application.
Add VPC: Add new VPC.
Schedule Sync: Create a new Schedule Event to synchronize your account with Kumolus application.
When you click on Schedule Sync it will be shown you the same Schedule Time window that had appeared during the adapter creation process, you must to follow the same steps.
Edit Adapter: Modify adapter details, such as credentials or name.
Modify what you need and click on Update Adapter to finish.
Delete Adapter: Delete an existing adapter.
When you click on icon of a Trash you will receive a confirmation message box warning you about this action. If you confirm this operation click on OK.
Once you have deleted an adapter you won’t see it anymore at Adapters page.
