Configure a set of custom mandatory rules that will get applied to each object that is provisioned from the build/manage section. You can use these "Tag Variable" in naming conventions.

To add a new tag, click on Add Tag button.

It will be open a window as shown below.

Key: Tag’s name to assist with identification.

Applicable to: Select all services that this tag will be applicable.

Allow override: Select which selected services an user can be modify the Tag’s value.

Usage Type:

  • Kumolus Only– tags will not be applied to a service at provider whereas those can be used for other application level purposes such as naming conventions.
  • Kumolus & Provider – tags will be applied to a service at provider as well.

Type: There are three types of Tag: Text, Date and Dropdown.

Dropdown Values: You can add multiple values separated by new line. Use '|' (vertical bar) as a separator for Short name and Long name. Short name is used as a display for naming conventions and Long name for Tagging. "Application variables" are also supported as a value here.

Description: Write a brief description of this tag.

Is Mandatory: Mark this check box to make it required in tagging tab.

Reset: Reset all selected values.

Values available to be used in Key Values:

Creating a list where you specify a linked abbreviation from the naming conventions is supported.

The Long format will be available for the tagging on provision and the acronym would be called from the Service Naming Convention.

The content before | (vertical bar) will be used for Naming Convention.

The content after | (vertical bar) will be used for Tagging in drop-down menu.

After you filled all required fields you will have a screen like the following picture, click on Save to finish.

You will receive a confirmation message about this action.

Once your tag has been created it will be listed at Tagging tab.

For each Tag, you will have two actions Edit or Delete.

Edit: Click on Edit button to edit any field in your tag settings, then click on Save to update.

You will receive a confirmation message about this action.

Delete: When you click on icon of a Trash you will receive a confirmation message box warning you about this action. If you confirm this operation click on OK.

You will receive a confirmation about this action.

Note: An organization can have up to 48 tagging preferences plus 2 tags reserved for environment ID and service name.

Tag hostname to volume

Enabling Tag hostname to volume will tag a volume with its latest server hostname. Environment will go in error state when total number of tags for any service exceeds '10'.
